'A Good and Fair Trade' is a novella that ties in with 'Angelo, Texas' (And 'Angelo II' which only has bits floating about in my head - lol).
It's about an incubus who is freed from Hell by an elderly woman and her granddaughter, in exchange for the elderly woman's rapist nephew.
Salaxaureus/Joshua is the main character of the story; as one reads his tale, the reader learns about his past as a member of the Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts, the unjust accusation of witchcraft against him - with its resultant trial and execution - to him being consigned to Hell and becoming a top incubus, and boytoy to the demon Asmodeus. Note that he is also the one demon who almost lures the Saint Gemma Galgani into having freaky demonic sex, and failing miserably.
Of course, this poor guys hates his hellish existence, and is only too happy to return to earth to live out his life as a normal, hard-working joe. Now - if only he could keep those demonic urges at bay.
Anyway, I'm about two thirds done, and I like it. The story is pretty dark, with some seriously disturbing sex and violence (think of Hell, people), but it will have some light at the end of a very long dark tunnel. A forgiving saint and angels help.
I know...the shit that comes out of my head. lol
An excerpt:
It was another fifteen minutes before the creature became whole. Besides being around six feet tall, he had a muscular, athletic build. Standing in the center of the protective circle, he swayed slightly on cloven hooves.
With the exception of his long, sharp, slightly curved horns, hairy goat legs, tail, and unbelievably large penis, the rest of him was surprisingly normal, by human male standards.
Long wavy black hair framed the demon’s strong, striking features. When his eyes opened, they revealed glowing yellow irises beneath long black lashes.
The demon Salaxaureus was as frightening as he was beautiful.
Leering at the elderly woman before him, he grabbed his gigantic penis, and spoke in a deep gravelly voice.
“I’ll rock your world, granny.”
Grandma Brigid gave the demon her sweetest grandmotherly smile.
“I’m sure you could honey, but that’s not why you’re here.”
